BILLING  UPDATE:

Dear LFC Client,

We are so excited to share some great news with you!

We now have a billing company that will be able to assist you with all your billing and insurance questions and concerns. To provide our clients with the best service possible, we hired a company who will assist us in filing claims, collecting payments, handle billing and claims questions, and be available to help you with any billing or insurance concerns you may have.

Here is how things will change for you.

Your therapist will no longer be collecting fees from you at the time of your visit (unless you are paying cash or check). Our billing company will charge the card that you have on file the day following your visit for the amount owed for that visit. If for some reason your card does not go through, she will reach out to you to verify the information or get a different card for your payment.

If at any time you have an outstanding balance with us, she will reach out to you and review your account and will plan with you how to clear up the balance due.

If you need statements or superbills for your insurance company those can be provided for you as well.

We know this is a change and will take some time to get used to, but it is very important to us that you are able to have the help that you need to address all your billing needs.

You can reach our billing department by logging in to your Therapy Appointment account, create a message and send it to [email protected] or you can also reach them through email at [email protected]. If you should have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 336-945-0137.

We appreciate your business and entrusting us with your care.

 Payment:

Cash, Check, HSA Cards and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.

Insurance:

Counselors accept private payment for counseling services.  However, services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan.  Our counselors are in network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna  plans (but not Blue Value, Blue Local, Healthy Blue, or Medicare/Medicaid plans).  Counselors are also able to provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement for services.  Please note that our policy is to accept private payment only for couples counseling.  See more information in our Health Insurance Guide.

Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session, and what will my co-pay be?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Cancellation Policy:

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay a late cancellation fee of $100.  This fee is not covered by insurance.

Have more questions about the affordability of counseling?

At Lewisville Family Counseling, it is important to us to offer a variety of options to make counseling accessible and affordable.  Here are some options to consider to help you meet your budget:

  • Frequency:  When you meet with your counselor, the two of you will have a conversation about how frequently you will meet.  This decision is based on several factors, such as urgency, crisis, finances, your preference, and the counselor's clinical recommendation.  You and your counselor can decide together how frequently to meet, taking your financial situation into consideration.
  • Interns:  Lewisville Family Counseling offers a fee structure based on the licensure level of the counselor. The rate for our graduate counseling intern is just $35 per 55 minute session. That's less than most people's insurance copay.
  • Superbills:  If we don't take your insurance, our licensed counselors can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
  • Health Spending Account (HSA)/Flexible Spending Account (FLEX): Did you know that you may be able to use your FLEX spending account or HSA to pay for counseling services?  Whether it is for a copay, deductible, or private payment, using your FLEX card or Health Spending Account may be an option.  Contact your Benefits Coordinator for more information about your account.
