Who is this workshop for?
This mindful movement workshop is designed for anyone who is interested in learning how to use mindful movement or yoga to help with things like depression, anxiety, fatigue, and body image. You do not need to be flexible or experienced with yoga; all are welcome!
What is this workshop about?
This mindful movement workshop will consist of education about why slow, mindful movement can be helpful for mental health, as well as a mindful movement class! You will also receive resources and a handout of the class itself that you can use to repeat the mindful movement "innercise" on your own.
When are the workshops?
We are offering four free workshops; you can participate in as few or as many as you like! Just make sure to let us know which ones you want to attend, so we can send you the link. The workshops will be on Mondays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on March 15, 22, 29, and April 5.
March 15: Mindful Movement for Fatigue
March 22: Mindful Movement for Depression
March 29: Mindful Movement for Anxiety
April 5: Mindful Movement for Body Image
Where will the workshops be held?
We will meet via Zoom. You can use a location in which you will have space to move around.
Why should I sign up?
Mindful movement is a form of
"innercise", which builds resillience
in the nervous system and focuses
on psysiological balance. It's like
exercise for your nervous system!
Slow, mindful movement
has been researched and
shown to be effective in
improving symptoms of
depression and anxiety,
among other mental health
concerns. Mindful
Movement can help you re-balance the nervous system
and can actually improve
decreased energy levels. During the workshop, we will explain this in a lot more detail!

What else do I need to know?
If you have difficulty standing up from a position of sitting or lying
down, please place a stable chair nearby, or practice near something
stable that you can safely use to help yourself into a standing
position.
If you have pain or injuries, please provide as much information as you can about these on your registration form.
Materials needed for for the workshop:
Yoga mat or a towel
Bolster or pillow
Blanket
If you like to take notes (during the educational portion of the workshops), have paper and pen/pencil handy.
You will need a device that can use Zoom for the workshop
