Josh works with adolescents and adults dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, stress, and addictions. He feels that the therapeutic process should be client-led and that a person should be empowered by a collaborative therapeutic relationship to make their own decisions in life. He gravitates towards Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the Strengths-Based Approach, as well as Mindfulness Therapy to help clients find their way.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology, Josh returned to East Carolina University to receive his MS in Clinical Counseling with a focus on drug and alcohol addictions. Josh has worked at an inpatient residential rehabilitation facility where he counseled and monitored adolescents struggling with various addictions. This experience, combined with his empathy for anyone struggling to find mental wellness, has led him to a place where he is continually inspired by the human experience and our ability to overcome any obstacle. Josh now works as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A).
In his free time, Josh enjoys traveling and listening to live music (preferably at the same time). He also enjoys going to his favorite restaurants and eating way too much food. He is excited to return to his hometown of Lewisville, and to provide mental health services to a community he cares deeply about.
